And next time, instead of this, "Kristi Noem . ." repeating a baseless claim", try this "KN . . . has consistently lied to the American public ." Say to yourself over and over again, - when a public figure lies, I can use that word - not "repeats a baseless claim" or "claims without evidence", just plain "lies."
Same in Michigan with Arab-American voters. Last fall "This American Life" did a great episode (843: A Little Bit of Power) on a Democratic activist, Abbas Alawies, who trying to get this message through to his community: Listen to Trump, believe what he says, not what you think you're hearing. I'm waiting for a followup with more "shocked" responses.
C'mon, now! Let's say the thing out loud. I'm betting some folks thought it's OK that Haitian immigrants' TPS status be questioned and not Venezuelas'. Why? Skin color. European okay, Caribbean not.
Venezuelans are not European; they are from Latin America. From what I can see Africa, the Caribbean, and Latin America are all “bad.” Apparently, South African white people are now the desirable refugees to allow in.
I disagree. The people being deported did NOT vote for Trump. Their countrymen who have become U.S. citizens did…but I honestly don’t want them to suffer as a result. I do want them to learn and vote differently going forward.
The legacy media I listen to made it clear during the campaign that the TPS program would be targeted by Trump. Same with Gaza. If people are surprised by his actions on those fronts post-election it's because they weren't paying attention.
I don't doubt they covered it somewhere, sometime. They did not, as far as I can see, highlight that policy or many of the other draconian policies that Trump promised to establish. Just a bunch of sane-washing and soft-pedaling Republican ideas and behaviors.
There was a ton of talk in the mainstream media during the campaign (especially the latter stages) about Project 2025 and the deconstruction of the administrative state. Trump denied any knowledge of Project 2025, which was a lie, and wasted no time implementing large parts of it through executive action as soon as he was in in office.
Exactly! That’s why it hasn’t been a hard decision to cancel, delete & rethink where I place my attention and money At! I cancelled 3 streaming services, deleted & permanently cancelled FB. I feel free of the BS and propaganda that the White Christian Nationalists have been cramming down the throats & minds of Americans for decades! Slow & steady as they were quietly preparing their 2025 Project for a bit until… BAM 💥 they won by getting the orange 💩 insane & unhinged ConMAN-child back in the WH. I guarantee you they will try anything to stay in the WH forever! Mark my words it’s gonna be a very LONG 4 years hate to say ✊🏻🥴🙄🫣
Steve, how can you write all this with a straight face? Those of us paying attention to media outlets other than yours and your "lets make sure each post tells the good and bad of both candidates even if we have to dig really deep to find the bad on the Dem side" knew all this was coming. I'd say better late than never, but it looks like it's too late.
Sadly, the majority of white voters, especially WOMEN, voted for Trump or just fucking stayed home. And their fantasy of cheap eggs? Dashed just like the TPS folks. What a bunch of maroons.
Something about Leopards

Or “misinformation.” I’m so tired of people sharing “misinformation.” They are spreading lies.
Thank you for saying this.

This, right here is the very definition of FAFO. Sympathy? I have none.
This is what happens when you only care for yourself and not other people.
I was listening to that report this morning and could only think “how could those people actually believe anything that Trump says”.
C'mon, now! Let's say the thing out loud. I'm betting some folks thought it's OK that Haitian immigrants' TPS status be questioned and not Venezuelas'. Why? Skin color. European okay, Caribbean not.

They fell for the con and bought the snake oil.
Watch out Trump-voting Mejicanos!! You’re next!!
“Pero nosotros votamos por Trump (but we voted for Trump)” will fall on deaf ears.
FAFO
Sad to say it, but they deserve to get everything they voted for.

Who’s shocked by this? Because legacy media never told the truth. They skirted the truth, they said what would keep them in the loop.

Anybody who trusted Trump needs to accept blame. Don't blame journalists. If you were paying attention, you knew Trump was bad news.
Excuse me? J. D. Vance said he did not consider them legal. How much clearer could they have been?
I consume lots of legacy media and I sure as fuck knew this. It was not being hidden.

Hard to feel sorry for these folks🤷🏻♀️. FAFO - I guess they are at the “Find Out” stage
It's not like we didn't try to tell them.
